Did you know that…

Red wine MMM Macho Man Monastrell has been chosen as the best wine in Spain in its category at seven international competitions. The 2014 vintage follows that rocker and fresh way. Elegant, pert, fruity and very round and long in mouth. It is the perfect selection to pair with good friends. Chosen among the best 100 wines in Spain by the Master of Wine Tim Atkin at the competition Wines from Spain Awards.

Making and Ageing

Vineyards, Monastrell selected from La Raja vineyards, between the mountain ranges of La Pila and El Carche.

Manual harvest in 15 KG crates the first week of September.

Ageing, 5 months in medium toast French oak barrel.

Tasting Notes

Red colour with violet shades, clean and brilliant. Wild plum colour.

Medium intensity in nose, in which dominates the fruit of the variety, red fruits, next to reminiscences of toast given by the barrel.

In mouth entrance is slightly warm compensated by an acidity which provides a very well balanced and round wine. We find a mature tannin which together to the one of the barrel make the wine lasts in mouth.

Retronasal, like in nose, it is presented fruity and with notes of the barrel.

Pairing

Ideal to pair red meat, small game, cheese and Iberian sausages.
